I help professionals like you navigate difficult processes for the best possible outcome.

Whether it’s a redundancy, a complaint, or something else, your workplace must put you through a fair process.

That’s not going to be your story.

The ‘Off Record’ Package

The no-nonsense package designed to get you clear on what’s happening and lay out the best next steps for the process. Understand what to do, what not to do, and offload your stress onto a compassionate guide with deep HR experience.

Step 1: 90-Minute Download

A 90-minute call where you tell me everything that’s happening and how you’re feeling. Don’t hold back. You’ll share:

  • What process your workplace has kicked off with you (if you know).
  • Everything that led up to it.
  • How you’re feeling as a result.
  • What you want to happen (and what you don’t want to happen.

I’ll be capturing notes the entire time we talk, so I can help guide you in a direction that gives you the closest possible outcome to what you want (or in some cases, help you adjust expectations).

Step 2: The Document Review

Within 24 hours of our 90-minute download, you’ll need to send through all documentation that relates to the process you’re going through. This might include:

  • Emails related to the process
  • Letters or communications that are part of the problem
  • Your employment agreement/contract
  • Anything else you can think of

Once I have the documents, I’ll review them in no more than 3 days. This is my time to get up to speed on what’s going on from an HR perspective. The more I know, the better I can help you navigate.

Step 3: 30-Minute Strategy

This final strategic session will provide clear next steps for you, as well as emotional and mental clarity. I’ll lay out a few things, including:

  • What to expect from the process
  • What you should/shouldn’t do or say
  • Possible outcomes and how to show up for each one
  • Ways to manage your stress and buy time

If your process is ongoing, you can book follow-up 30-minute sessions with me for further guidance. This time will include reviewing any further information you send.

Years experience
WHY DO YOU NEED A GUIDE AND ADVISOR?

When you work with me, you get to:

Release the energy.

Going through a process like this is one of the most stressful things you can endure at work. Release the tension with a compassionate guide.

Clarify what has happened.

These processes are confusing, and can make you feel crazy. When you tell me what’s happening, I help you find clarity.

Know your options.

There is rarely just one option. With my years of experience, I can lay out what to expect so you’re not coming at the process from a place of confusion.

Let’s answer a few questions.

I help professionals who are facing confronting or confusing events at work—like restructures, disciplinary processes, performance management, conflict, or being blindsided by unexpected accusations. If something’s happened that’s shaken your confidence or left you unsure of your next step, I will help you in any way I can.

No, and that’s by design. My role is to help you stay grounded and strategic behind the scenes, not to speak for you. However, I work closely with you to understand what’s happening, prepare your responses, clarify your thinking, and support you emotionally, mentally and tactically so you can step into those meetings with clarity and strength. You may even end up knowing more than the people running the process. I think being able to do this is very powerful for most people. Obviously it is best for people who can be professional and resilient.

Neither—and both, in a way. While I’m not a lawyer or a therapist, I bring deep HR expertise in NZ employment law and decades of real-work experience in helping people navigate tough workplace processes. I have sat on both sides of the table many times so I combine this with insight into human behaviour, emotional resilience, and self-awareness. I won’t give you generic advice—I’ll give you grounded, tailored support you can actually use.

You download your situation to me, and we unpack what’s happening, identify key risks and next steps, and plan how you can move forward. I review documents, help you craft a written response, prepare for a meeting, or just help you see clearly through the overwhelm. You’ll leave with more calm, clarity, and confidence than you came in with.

That’s exactly what I’m here for. Many people I work with feel isolated, confused, or ashamed about what’s happening. Talking it through with someone who understands the process the impact of it, who can offer grounded, honest insight can be the first—and most powerful—step. You don’t have to have it all figured out. We just start where you are.

  • I just didn’t know what was going to happen. If it wasn’t for Mel, I would have curled up and let them do whatever. She reinstalled my mana.

Sage was facing a process at work with no help or guidance, but she didn’t want someone to take over for her in meetings. She wanted to self-advocate, to share her story, and to arrive at an outcome with her workplace on her own terms. I supported her with my knowledge of the process and my compassion, Sage took control of her own side of the process, and now she’s doing better than ever in a new place of employment.
